A Network to Beat the Talent Crisis
When you want to exit the cyborg vivarium without going hermit mode.
Paying subscribers will know from my recent remarks on tech’s “Napoleonic” moment that ever more younger people of skill and ambition feel frozen out of advancement by managerial “elites” embracing wokeness in the hope of becoming the theocrats in charge of catechizing the borg:
It is clear enough why the Napoleonic stirs the souls of so many young and “younger” men in tech, who have seen avenue after avenue and claim after claim shut off to them and locked down by figures and factions of unquestionably lesser talent, competence, vision, and skill. Tech appears to be the only path open to them and their ambition, an ambition which has in its more than bitterness or fear but the natural sinew of life. Tech, moreover, seems to offer the one thing most needful as all presumptive paths would go — the one capability they do not have, that not even nature has, to make up the lost ground of time, to speedrun back to the future.
It only makes sense to them that Napoleon was in some sense a machine, a factory for making men — and, in this sense, the very founder of high modernity…
I suspect that many (if not most!) free subscribers see this phenomenon clearly. Perhaps someone you know, or even you yourself, might suffer under it directly.
Here at THE BUILD and elsewhere, I’m not (and won’t be) in the habit of pitching people. Given the severity of the talent crisis and its very social and personal consequences, however, it’d be absurd for the Founder of RETURN (me) not to stress that New Founding, where RETURN was born, is now tackling the problem directly, via the New Founding Talent network.
As you might expect, the network connects aligned job seekers with aligned institutions. I can share that among the thousands in network are — as you might expect — software engineers and product managers building tech products… but also BigLaw attorneys, and business execs atop companies exceeding $500M in revenue. If you’re a visual learner, enjoy this easy-on-the-eyes video.
I can also share with you network chief (and NF partner) Justin Steffen’s direct line. Ping him at 217-819-1182 if you’re in the market — or want to be.
Happy trails!
